Food Pets Prey For!

We don't have any products to sell. While we were researching dog nutrition we liked the idea behind the name "Pure4m" so we trademarked it. It hit us that raw food is in the most natural and purest form. There is little that people can do to raw food to improve its nutritional value.

Dog History and Nutritional Needs

One hundred-thousand years is still not enough time to change the nutritional needs of a species. The nutritional needs of the domestic dog, Canis familiaris, is still similar to that of their distant cousins the wolf (Canis lupus).

In-Species Breeding Does Not Change Nutritional Needs

The domestic dog has been bred over the last 4000 years to serve their human friends, yet this relative short breeding time period has done little to change nutritional needs. This is because breeding has not changed how a dog's system works.

The only way to change nutritional needs is to breed dissimilar animals (crossbreeding). Without crossbreeding, you can change size and shape but not the underlying nutritional needs. Nutritional needs are based on physiology, or how the animal's systems work together as a whole organism. From chewing (mostly tearing) in the mouth, to the breakdown action in the stomach, through the digestion absorption in the intestines, to the nutritional uptake and exchange in the cells.

Domestic dogs are still predators.

We should feed them accordingly.

Amount Varies Nutrition Does Not

While the domestic dog can be breed into many shapes, size is the most important factor on the amount of food required. Climate and activity level are other important factors. Internal chemistry and nutritional needs are still the same.
